This policy explains how personal information is handled in connection with veganandthebeast.ca. It applies to this website only and does not extend to any other site you may reach from here.
At present this website is a holding page. It has no accounts, no logins, no shopping cart and no forms, so there is nothing on these pages that asks you to submit personal information.
If you choose to write to the email address shown on this page, we receive the message itself along with your email address, your name if you include it, and anything else you decide to tell us. That information is used to answer you and for no other purpose.
Like virtually all websites, this one is delivered by a web server that keeps standard access logs. Those logs can include an IP address, the date and time of a request, the page requested, the referring page and basic browser information. They exist for security, troubleshooting and traffic measurement.
We do not sell personal information, we do not rent it, and we do not trade it. We do not use the information you send us to add you to a mailing list unless you have asked to be added.
Information may be handled on our behalf by service providers such as our web host and email provider. Those providers are given access only to what they need in order to deliver their service, and they are expected to protect it.
Some of these service providers, and therefore some of the data, may be located outside Canada. Where that is the case, the information can be subject to the laws of the country in which it is held, including lawful access requests by authorities in that country.
Email correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for the matter it relates to, and for a reasonable period afterwards for record keeping. Server logs are kept on the host's normal rotation and are then discarded.
Reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards are used to protect information against loss, theft and unauthorized access. No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, so no absolute guarantee can be given.
Under Canadian privacy legislation, including PIPEDA and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask that it be corrected, and withdraw a consent you previously gave. Requests can be sent to the email address on this page.
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and it will be removed.
This policy may be updated as the website develops, and the current version will always be posted here. Questions about privacy can be sent to the email address shown on this page.

Cookies are small text files that a website can place on your device so that information can be remembered between page views or between visits. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage and tracking pixels.
This website is currently a single holding page and does not set cookies of its own. Nothing on this page writes a cookie to your device in order to identify you or follow you.
No analytics package is running on this page, so your visit is not being measured by a third party analytics cookie. Basic server logs still record requests, but those are kept by the web server rather than written to your device.
No advertising or retargeting cookies are used on this page. You are not being added to an advertising audience by visiting it.
There are no embedded videos, maps, feeds or social widgets on this page, so no third party is able to set a cookie through content embedded here.
Local storage and session storage are not used on this page. Nothing is written to your browser's storage when the page loads.
If the full website later introduces analytics, embedded content or advertising, this notice will be updated before those technologies are used, and any consent required by law will be requested at that time.
Your browser gives you control over cookies regardless of what a website does. You can usually block cookies, allow only some of them, or delete the ones already stored, from the privacy or security section of your browser settings.
Blocking cookies broadly can affect how other websites behave, since many rely on them for sign in and basic functions. It will not affect your ability to read this page.
Browsers that send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal are respected in the sense that nothing here tracks you in the first place.
Cookie practices are reviewed whenever the website changes in a meaningful way, and the date at the top of this notice shows when it was last reviewed.
Questions about cookies or any other technology used on this website can be sent to the email address shown on this page.

This notice sets out the legal terms on which the information on veganandthebeast.ca is made available to you. By using the website you accept this notice.
The website is operated by the owner of the domain veganandthebeast.ca. Correspondence of any kind, including legal correspondence, can be sent to the email address shown on this page.
The design, layout, text, graphics and source code of this website are protected by copyright and may not be copied, reproduced, republished or distributed without written permission, other than normal browser caching and printing a page for your own personal use.
All names, logos and marks that appear on this website remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing on this website grants any licence or right to use any of them.
The website is currently a holding page. The information on it is provided for general information only and does not constitute an offer, a representation or a commitment of any kind.
While reasonable care is taken, no warranty is given that the content of this website is accurate, complete or current, and it may be changed or removed at any time without notice.
Nothing on this website is professional advice of any sort, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.
This website may at some point link to third party websites. Those sites are not under our control, we are not responsible for their content or practices, and a link does not imply endorsement.
Every effort is made to keep the website available, but availability is not guaranteed. Access may be suspended or restricted at any time for maintenance, security or other operational reasons.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or the inability to use, this website, including indirect or consequential loss.
This notice and your use of the website are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction over any dispute.

This website is intended to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, switch devices or voice control.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, Level AA, are used as the working standard for this website, and the guidelines are applied as the site is built rather than added afterwards.
This page is built with semantic HTML so that headings, lists, buttons and dialogs are announced correctly, and so that the reading order matches the visual order.
Text and background colours on this page have been chosen to meet the contrast requirements of the standard, and colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
Everything on this page can be operated with a keyboard alone. Links, buttons and the legal dialogs can be reached with the Tab key, activated with Enter or Space, and the dialogs can be closed with the Escape key.
A visible focus indicator is shown on whichever element the keyboard is currently on, so it is always clear where you are on the page.
The layout is responsive and uses relative units, so the page can be zoomed or the text enlarged without content being cut off or overlapping.
Motion and animation are kept to a minimum, and the page honours the reduced motion setting offered by operating systems and browsers.
The decorative emblem on this page carries a text alternative, and no information is presented only as an image.
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment rather than a one time exercise. As the full website is developed, each new page and feature is checked before it is published, and the site is reviewed periodically.
If you encounter a barrier on this website, or you need information from it in another format, please contact us at the email address shown on this page. Please describe the page and the difficulty so that it can be reproduced.
Accessibility feedback is acknowledged as promptly as possible, normally within a few business days, and barriers that can be fixed quickly are fixed quickly.

You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss or expense arising from your use of this website in breach of these terms or in breach of any applicable law.
Access to the website may be restricted or withdrawn at any time, without notice, at our discretion.
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, that part is severed and the rest of the terms continue to apply. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada, and the courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction.
